In this article, we describe online blood gas monitors used during cardiopulmonary bypass. Technologies used by these devices, vital parameters they measure, and the timing of the measurements are indicated. In the final section of the article, it is suggested that the use of online blood gas monitors may be helpful for predicting time and perfusion with improved quality.
